Arsenal have recorded an important 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Monday, a result that has given them confidence in the battle for the Premier League title. Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud scored in the first half while Yaya Toure reduced the deficit for Man City late in the game. The Gunners have not won the top flight crown since 2004.
"It gives us confidence, strength and belief," said Wenger. "We have a bit more maturity in the side now, which you could see in the game when we were under pressure." The Gunners are second in the Premier League table, two points behind surprise leaders Leicester City and four points ahead of third-placed Man City. The Gunners are unbeaten in their last six matches.
"Two or three years ago we were top for a long time but what is special is that this time we lost important players, had to go to Olympiakos, play at Villa and today, and we won those games," added boss Wenger. "That is positive. I believe that we have shown our talents of spirit, organisation and brilliance all together and that gave us three points. When we did not have the legs any more we relied on the spirit and that got us through in the end."
Arsenal are now the top faourites to win the Premier League title this season, they are 1/1 at Bet365 to win it while Manchester City are now 15/8 to secure the title.

How fast things could change in the Premier League, after that result Arsenal looked like a team with in which have a great momentum and just few days later they lost 4-0 away to Southampton and completely erased the good impressions from the City game. Still it looks like anybody season and the most consistent team will triumph in the end but certainly this was an important victory for the Gunners.
