Tottenham Hotspur visit Southampton on Saturday afternoon at St. Mary's, with both teams looking to recover after being defeated last weekend. The Saints have not beaten Tottenham in their last six Premier League meetings, the Spurs have won five of those. It's quite interesting that Southampton had the lead in three of the last four matches against Tottenham, but haven't managed to win any of those games.
Southampton have not won in five matches in all competitions, a poor streak that came after an eight-match unbeaten run. They have secured just one point in their last four league matches and suffered a crushing 6-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the League Cup. Last weekend the Saints were beaten 1-0 at Crystal Palace, but they could have snatched a point if Shane Long wouldn't have squandered a late chance. After Tottenham the Saints will have to face Arsenal and then West Ham. First-choice Maarten Stekelenburg is still out with a toe injury.
Tottenham had their 14-match unbeaten streak stopped last Sunday when Newcastle defeated them 2-1 at White Hart Lane. The result surely hurt the Spurs, more so since they had opened the scoring through Eric Dier. They have lost no less than 11 points after having taken the lead this season, more than any team in the league. They have lost just one of their last five league matches but they haven't lost away from home since the opening-day defeat at Manchester United.
Probable line-ups:
Southampton: Gazzaniga - Cedric, Fonte, Van Dijk, Bertrand - Wanyama, Romeu, Davis - Tadic, Mane - Pelle
Tottenham: Lloris - Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose - Dier, Dembele, Lamela, Alli, Eriksen - Kane
My prediction: Tottenham to win 2-1.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Southampton win - 2.75 Draw - 3.30 Tottenham win - 2.80

Tottenham played one great match, and they fully deserved three points. It will be intetresting to see, will they managed to get Champions league spot at the end of the season. In other hand, Southampton doesn0t look like a team from the previous season, and I believe that they will need to play much better in upcoming...

Spurs has a greatest opportunity to be in top four in the end of season, as we know they are every season close to that but so rarely in fact they succeeded to be in CL spots. If they have more confidence I think even something better for them is possible this season with so many shaky top teams in the league but I doubt...

If they have more confidence I think even something better for them is possible this season with so many shaky top teams in the league but I doubt that Spurs players and management have that confidence and believe. About this game - despite the bad tradition against Tottenham I believe Southampton could win that- 3-2, why not : )
