Manchester City will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host managerless Swansea City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. The Swans have sacked Garry Monk this week after a poor run of results. It's interesting that Swansea lead the overall head-to-head record with 18 wins and 3 draws out of 28 matches. Recent history does favour Man City though, the Citizens have lost just one of the last 10 direct encounters and have won all the last four with 12 goals scored in the process.
Man City are now three points behind surprise leaders Leicester City due to some patchy form lately. They have won three of their last seven matches, but they did finish top of their Champions League group this week and also secured a place in the League Cup semi-finals. In midweek they beat Borussia Moenchengladbach 4-2, regaining some confidence after last weekend's 2-0 loss at Stoke City. Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero will be unavailable, but Martin Demichelis should make his return from injury.
Swansea have won just one of their last eleven matches, a poor run that has lead to Garry Monk's sacking. Alan Curtis will lead the team as caretaker manager until a permanent solution is found, there isn't much pressure for a result at the Etihad but they players will probably feel that they have something to prove. Frank Tabanou is the only injury concern for the Swans, but Curtis will probably make quite a few changes considering the team's terrible results of late.
Probable line-ups:
Man City: Hart - Sagna, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov - Fernandinho, Toure, De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling - Bony
Swansea: Fabianski - Naughton, Bartley, Williams, Taylor - Shelvey, Ki, Montero, Sigurdsson, Ayew - Gomis
My prediction: Manchester city to win 4-1.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Man City win - 1.30 Draw - 6.00 Swansea win - 11.00

City wons this match, but it is obvious that they are not in right form right now. They should won this match with bigger margin, and I believe that they have quality for that. Their luck is that their opponents are also playing in bad form, except Arsenal, which will be their main title contender this season

M. City has important absences, as Kompany and Aguero, but it's still a great team and can make a great game against Swansea today that does not come at a good performance at Premier League. I believe that victory in midweek at UCL motivated even more and took a huge responsibility of M. City. Playing in Etihad Stadium...

It looks like this will be an easy game for Man City. I rarely allow myself such a comments but it's really looking that Swansea are in too tough situation at the moment which will not allowed them to show their best in that one. I rarely allow myself such a comments but it's really looking that Swansea are in too tough situation at the moment which will not allowed them to show their best in that one. From the other side City always bounce back after a defeat this season especially when they play at home so I don't think they will have any problems winning that one despite their patchy form so far.
