Back Premier League: Crystal Palace vs Southampton preview

Southampton visit Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, looking for their first victory in four Premier League matches. The Saints are now 12th in the league table, while the Eagles are proudly sitting sixth. Southampton won both meetings against Palace last season, 3-1 last time at Selhurst Park. The Eagles did beat them in the League Cup though and they will also meet in the FA Cup in January. The Saints have won six of the last seven matches against the Eagles.

Crystal Palace have lost just one of their last five league matches, while last time out they snatched a 1-1 draw at Everton. However, their home form has been a concern this season, four of their six defeat have come at Selhurst Park. Bakary Sako is the only injury concern for Alan Pardew, he will most likely be out until January. Dwight Gayle has come off the bench at Everton and could make the starting line up this weekend.

Last weekend Southampton were held to a 1-1 draw by Aston Villa, leaving them without a league win since the beginning of November. Moreover, the Saints were hammered 6-1 by Liverpool in the League Cup. They have been tough to beat away from home this season, losing just one of seven matches on the road. Ronald Koeman has no fresh injury concerns, but Jay Rodriguez remains out of contention along with long-term absentees Florin Gardos and Fraser Forster.

Probable line-ups:

Crystal Palace: Hennessey - Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare - McArthur, Jedinak, Cabaye - Bolasie, Gayle, Puncheon

Southampton: Stekelenburg - Soares, Fonte, Van Dijk, Bertrand - Wanyama, Romeu, Mane, Davis, Tadic - Pelle

My prediction: 2-2 draw.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Crystal Palace win - 2.60 Draw - 3.00 Southampton win - 3.30
