Back Premier League: Arsene Wenger ready to spend in January

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted he is prepared to splash some cash in January on some new players in order to improves his side's title chances. The Gunners were defeated 2-1 at West Brom last weekend, and the result dropped them to fourth place in the Premier League standings. This weekend they will face Norwich at Carrow Road on Sunday.

This summer Arsene Wenger made just one new signing: goalkeeper Petr Cech for 10 million pounds from Chelsea. The club has around 200 million pounds in reserves, so the manager will have all the money he needs if he wants to bring some new players in the January transfer window. "We are in a position where we want to do something," Wenger said. "If I find the right quality I will do something."

Arsenal are going through an injury crisis at the moment, especially in midfield, after Frenchman Francis Coquelin was ruled out for at least three months. Aaron Ramsey has returned to action though as he featured as a substitute in Tuesday's Champions League win against Dinamo Zagreb. Theo Walcott is also close to a return, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could get back to action this weekend.

Arsenal are 9/4 at Bet365 to win the title this season, their first Premier League crown since 2004.
