Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera insists he has a good relationship with manager Louis van Gaal. The Spaniard, who joined the Red Devils from Athletic Bilbao during the 2014 summer transfer window, has had a rough start to the season, with just five Premier League appearances until now.
He came from the bench in the last two competitive matches, against West Bromwich Albion and CSKA Moscow. He played just nine minutes overall in those two matches, not really enough for him to prove his worth. Boss Louis van Gaal was criticized by pundits and fans for United's style of play but Herrera defends the manager as he believes he is the right man for the club.
"He's a very demanding person, very forward and very sincere, which I value a lot," Herrera said. "He might seem a bit tough, but I think he's a good guy and I think he wants what's best for the club. On a personal level, I have a very good relationship with him. I know he can look tough from outside the club, but from within, he's the right guy to help us improve."
Manchester United are 6/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title this season.

I expected much more from this player when he came to Manchester United because he was really great in pre season friendly and now in 2 season h eis just another signing nothing special, especially a lot of coaches define him as new Paul Scholes but for now he is not even close.

It is normal for him to enjoy his life at the moment.I think he is nice player, but I dont think he will ever have some important role in such a big club like Manchester United is.I consider Ander Herrera as a mistake of Van Gaal, cause, when you pay for someone so much money, everyone expect to see results immediately.

Herrera appears even more rarely in play from the beginning of this season compared with the previous one. It's normal thing that he defends Van Gaal because he brings the player to the club and he is the manager he is use to work with. But I think that's not going to continue forever if the manager don't plays him regularly...

Nobody knows the exact answer of the question if Van Gaal is the right man for United, but it's looking more and more likely that he isn't!

I thought Herrera doesn't like Van Gaal's defence-minded strategy but in this case this opinion was wrong. No doubt Mata has more experience than the Basque but in my opinion if Van Gaal will buy some fast winger Herrera will get more playing minutes as well because he's a better attacker than Mata.

I really do not understand the coach, that the player who was paid 36 million sitting on the bench. He is young and talented, but he has to play continuously in a team to make progress. I think it's going to Manchester was the wrong move.Perhaps it is better to go on loan to play more games.
