Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has been ruled out for eight weeks due to a knee ligament injury that he picked up during Sunday's 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace. The initial suspicions were far worse, fearing that Sakho had suffered a cruciate ligament tear. The 25-year-old Frenchman should be out of contention until January.
Sakho had been the first choice central defender for Jurgen Klopp in recent games alongside Martin Skrtel. Croatia international Dejan Lovren should be the first in line to replace Sakho until his return.
After Sunday's defeat, Klopp said he was more upset because of the injury than the defeat: "I would prefer to lose 4-1 and keep him in the team." The next match for the Reds is a tough one at leaders Manchester City and then a busy schedule around Christmas.
Liverpool are 9/4 at Bet365 to finish inside the Premier League top four this season.

I feel really sorry for Liverpool.Jurgen Klopp has many problems with injuries.He had the some problem in his last season in Borussia,but now we are talking about problems he got immediately when he got the job at Anfield.Sakho is solid defender,I would not be happy If I must watch Lovren again.

Very big problem for Liverpool. He was the first choice in defense, i think Lovren isn't a substitute for him. Knee ligament injuries is a very serious, and there will always be fear in the players not to renew injury. Very embarrassing situation for Jürgen Klopp, moving hardest part of the season.
