Back Premier League: Bournemouth set to receive US investment

A private equity firm from the United States is preparing to buy a 25% stake in Premier League club Bournemouth, according to BBC Sport. Peak 6, a company based in Chicago, is believed to be involved, after having previously attempted to take over Championship side Reading.

Bournemouth have not yet commented on the reports. They are currently 18th in the Premier League in their first ever season in the top flight. The club is owned by Russian citizen Max Demin, who has played a big part in the club's rise through the rankings. He will remain involved at the club even if Peak 6 succeed in their investment.

Bournemouth have been trying to raise their profile in the United States lately. Last summer they played a pre-season friendly against Philadelphia Union. Eddie Howe's men were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle on Saturday despite having played pretty well and dominating most of the game. If the investment will go through it will provide the club some funds that could be spent on new players during the January transfer window.

Bournemouth are currently 1/1 at Bet365 to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.
