Manchester City will be looking to make another step towards a trophy when they face Crystal Palace in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup on Wednesday. The Eagles have reached the semi-finals of this competition in 2012 and they will be hoping for a surprise result at the Etihad Stadium. City won 1-0 at Selhurst Park earlier this season, while the last meeting at the Etihad Stadium ended 3-0.
Manchester City cruised past Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the previous round, they recorded a 4-1 victory. After two consecutive Premier League defeats to West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur Pellegrini's men recovered with solid 6-1 and 5-1 wins over Newcastle United and Bournemouth, results which kept them at the top of the table. Last weekend they played out a goalless draw against rivals Manchester United. The Citizens won the League Cup in 2014 but last season they were knocked out by Newcastle in the third round. Sergio Aguero and David Silva are still unavailable through injury, while Fernandinho is suspended.
Crystal Palace had a great start to the season but now they have recorded consecutive defeats against West Ham United and Leicester City. Their away form has been particularly convincing under Alan Pardew, they won nine of their 13 matches on the road since he took charge. The Eagles have never won the League Cup and have failed to reach the fourth round of the competition since the 2011-2012 season. Dwight Gayle is back from suspension but Pape Souare, Connor Wickham and Marouane Chamakh are still injured.
Probable line-ups:
Manchester City: Caballero - Sagna, Kompany, Mangala, Kolarov - Fernando, Garcia, Toure, Roberts, De Bruyne - Bony
Crystal Palace: Hennessey - Mariappa, Dann, Hangeland, Kelly - McArthur, Cabaye - Puncheon, Zaha, Bolasie - Gayle
My prediction: Manchester City to win 2-0.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Man City win - 1.40 Draw - 5.25 Crystal Palace win - 8.00

It is important for every team to keep winning streak alive. This was expected to be an easy match for the Citizens, and players absolutely met expectations of the crowd. It is nice to win with so much goal difference

I watched this game and I saw great Manchester City. They were awesome in this math and deservedly won 5-1. For me, the most important thing from this game is great performance that showed Kelechi Iheanacho. He scored goal and had two of assistance. He will be great player in future, I am sure.

From the probable line-ups looking like City will play with almost all the best they've got at the moment so obviously they are the favourites in that one. Palace could be really tough opponent and I believe or hope that they will create some trouble to the City defense. This one looking like the most interesting game in...

This one looking like the most interesting game in the competition for the night so I'm looking forward to it.

I usually like the League Cup matches because there is a good chance to find some big surprise. I think Manchester City don't care about this Cup, they want the Premier League title and the Champions League title. League Cup will be only for the bench players. In my opinion Manchester City has the best team in the Premier League. They always go on all trophies. They have a good reserve players, and i think that will win this match. Crystal Palace should turn to the league, I do not know how their chances against the best team in England.
