Manchester City welcome Sevilla to the Etihad Stadium in Group D of the Champions League on Wednesday, looking to secure their second win of the campaign. The two sides are currently tied on three points, so the Spanish side will be determined to get a positive result in England. This will be the very first meeting between these two sides.
Manchester City got beaten 2-1 at home by Juventus in the first group stage match, but then produced a late fightback to secure a 2-1 victory at Borussia Monchengladbach. City will have to secure the three points against Sevilla in order to boost their qualification chances, even though they will have to do it without star striker Sergio Aguero. However, the Citizens were able to produce plenty of goals against Bournemouth last weekend, even without the Argentinian, with Raheem Sterling bagging a hat-trick. Samir Nasri will be out with a hamstring problem, along with David Silva and Aguero.
Sevilla started the group campaign with a solid 3-0 win against Borussia but then lost away to Juventus in the second match. Their Primera Liga campaign had a terrible start, with no wins out of the first five matches, but then they recovered and won two of the last three league matches, including a prestigious 2-1 home win against champions Barcelona. Striker Fernando Llorente will have to face a late fitness test before being included in the starting line up, while Gael Kakuta, Sergio Escudero and Daniel Carrico will surely miss out.
Probable line-ups:
Manchester City: Hart - Zabaleta, Kompany, Mangala, Sagna - Fernandinho, Toure - Navas, De Bruyne, Sterling - Bony
Sevilla: Rico - Tremoulinas, Rami, Kolodzieczak, Coke - Krychowiak, Iborra, Reyes, N'Zonzi, Vitolo - Gameiro
My prediction: Manchester City to win 3-1.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Man City win - 1.66 Draw - 4.20 Sevilla win - 5.50

It was interesting match.Sevilla had more ball in their possession, but Manchester City had more opportunities to score.English team also had more shots on the goal,so they definitely deserved their win. This is very important win for Manchester City.If they do not lose in Spain, they will be almost certain team in the knockout...

Maybe Manchester City is a favourite in this game but we all know how bad are their results trough the years in the CL. When I'm writhing that it's still 1-1 in the second half and looking likely for Seville to grab a point from that one. City are just ridiculous when it comes to the European football so everything is still...

Seville plays well against the big teams, as we saw against Barcelona. Although the Manchester City a great team and every match a new player scores two, three goals. We will see what they can without Aguero. My suggestion for this match is over 2.5 goals.

I think this is the last chance for Pellegrini. Manchester City have to reach the semi-finals in this year and now they are sitting only on the 3rd position in the group. They have a good squad and in my opinion they have to win at home. Sevilla are a dangerous opponent but the English team have a much better team so I think we'll see a very easy win for City (3:0 or 3:1).

Manchester City has never been strong as he is now. Squad vise, they got all positions covered and this could be year when they finally step up their game as far as Champions League goes. Their midfield looks insanly strong and I can't see spanish team stopping them. Sevilla, on the other hand, has pretty much nothing to...

Their midfield looks insanly strong and I can't see spanish team stopping them. Sevilla, on the other hand, has pretty much nothing to loose in this matchup so they will be playing without the pressure. My predictions: - Result: 3-0 for Manchester City; - Man of the match: Kevin De Bruyne
