Back UEFA Champions League: Dynamo Kiev vs Chelsea preview

Chelsea travel to face Dynamo Kiev at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium on Tuesday in a match that could become very important for the final standings in Group G. Chelsea are currently third in the group with three points while Dynamo Kiev are topping the standings with four points, tied with FC Porto. These two teams have never met before.

Dinamo Kiev are unbeaten so far in this season's Champions League. They started with a good 2-2 draw against Porto and then snatched a comfortable 2-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv. However, their morale might not be at top level before this match as they lost their first league game of the season last week, 3-0 at home to rivals Shakhtar Donetsk. Head coach Sergey Rebrov could be without midfielder Serhiy Rybalka due to a small muscle tear, but he might pass a late fitness test and play.

Chelsea have been struggling in all competitions this season, defending their Premier League title seems now impossible while in the Champions League they were defeated by Porto after having secured an easy win over Maccabi Tel Aviv. Last weekend they recorded a 2-0 win over Aston Villa, but they are still 11th in the Premier League table. Thibaut Courtois and Branislav Ivanovic are unavailable through injury, Abdul Baba Rahman should be in the first eleven at left-back. Ruben Loftus-Cheek might continue to feature in midfield after having played from the start against Aston Villa.

Probable line-ups:

Dynamo Kiev: Shovkovskiy - Silva, Dragovic, Khacheridi, Antunes - Rybalka, Veloso, Garmash - Gusev, Yarmolenko, Kravets

Chelsea: Begovic - Azpilicueta, Terry, Cahill, Rahman - Loftus-Cheek, Fabregas - Hazard, Willian, Pedro - Costa

My prediction: Chelsea to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Dynamo win - 2.90 Draw - 3.30 Chelsea win - 2.62
