Back Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool preview

New Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will make his Premier League debut on Saturday when his side visit Tottenham at White Hart Lane. The two sides are separated by just one point in the league table, with Tottenham in eighth place and Liverpool in tenth. The Reds have won the last five league meetings against Tottenham, but neither of the two sides has ever won six in a row against the other. Liverpool have recorded comprehensive victories on their last two visits at White Hart Lane: 5-0 and 3-0.

Tottenham are unbeaten in seven league matches, they haven't lost any games since the opening day defeat at the hands of Manchester United. The Spurs have gathered 10 points out of 12 in the last four league matches, including a 4-1 victory over title favourites Manchester City. They are unbeaten at home this season and it's also worth pointing out that their last five league home defeats have been by a difference of just one goal. Ironically it's Liverpool that last beat them by more than one goal at White Hart Lane. Eric Dier is unavailable through suspension after having picked up five yellow cards, while Son Heung-min, Nabil Bentaleb, Ryan Mason and Alex Pritchard are injured.

Jurgen Klopp starts his Liverpool adventure after the club had a disappointing recent form under former boss Brendan Rodgers. He was sacked after a 1-1 draw in the Merseyside Derby before the international break. The Reds have struggled to win away games, they have won just one of the last nine away league games. However, Klopp has not had the most fortunate start at Anfield as he lost Danny Ings and Joe Gomez for the rest of the season. Christian Benteke is also out of contention for a while, along with Jordan Henderson and Roberto Firmino. Philippe Coutinho and Dejan Lovren could recover in time for the match.

Probable line-ups:

Tottenham: Lloris - Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies - Alli, Dembele - Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli - Kane

Liverpool: Mignolet - Clyne, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno - Lucas - Can, Milner, Coutinho, Lallana - Sturridge

My prediction: 1-1 draw.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Tottenham win - 2.45 Draw - 3.50 Liverpool win - 3.00
