Back Premier League: Victor Valdes set to leave in January

Victor Valdes' agent says the Spanish goalie will certainly leave Manchester United in the January transfer window. The agent added that Valdes is unlikely to return to Spain. The goalkeeper has fallen out of grace at Old Trafford after manager Louis van Gaal revealed that he refused to play for the reserves team.

Valdes has not played at all for the Red Devils since a substitute appearance in the final game of last season. He has been linked with several clubs during the summer transfer window. Newcastle also seem interested in him after losing Tim Krul to injury for the rest of the campaign.

The goalkeeper's agent, Gines Carvajal, revealed the 33-year-old Spain international did not reveal his future destination but insisted a move back to Spain would be unlikely. "He needs to go to a place he feels is right for him," he said. "He won't be coming to Spain, unless he decides otherwise. It is obvious he must leave in January and and we will try to make sure he's happy and feels comfortable with the move. He had the option of coming to Valencia in the summer and did not want to."

Manchester United are 7/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title this season.
