Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey has turned her attention to daily fantasy sports operator DraftKings and the legal position of the company.
Healey told the media, “The point is this: This is a new industry. It's something that we're reviewing, and we'll learn more about it.”
DraftKings stands by its offerings as skill based and therefore legal by US and Canadian laws.
Peter Schoenke, chairman of the Fantasy Sports Trade Association, gave the Boston Globe the following statement:
“These are skill-based games that match sports fans against each other in a contest of sports knowledge and strategy that is fundamentally different from wagering on the performance of an individual player or the outcome of a particular game.”

Well, if DFS is a skill based, I don't see why sports betting for example it isn't, but anyway Draft Kings are on the top of the popularity now when they have so huge advert TV campaigns for the start of the NFL season which is the biggest event for the company and will be a huge blow for them if there are some issues with the gambling authorities in Massachusetts.
