Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea says he is "happy" and hoping for "good fortune" at Manchester United, as he hopes to reclaim his spot between the sticks. The 24-year-old goalie has not played for the Red Devils this season because manager Louis van Gaal thought he would not be able to focus on the pitch due to the imminent transfer to Real Madrid.
De Gea played his first competitive game of the season for Spain against Macedonia in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Tuesday. "I felt good," said De Gea. "I really wanted to play. Now I need to keep working and see if I have some good fortune at my club as well." New signing Sergio Romero has become the first choice goalkeeper at Manchester United at the start of the season.
De Gea was set to join Real Madrid on transfer deadline day but the move fell through as the necessary paperwork was not submitted in time. After that incident Manchester United included him in their Champions League squad, so maybe he will make his way back into the first eleven in that competition. De Gea added: "My future will be the same as now: remain calm, keep working and improving. In concrete terms, enjoy my football. I am happy." His contract with Manchester United expires next summer.

In my opinion David De Gea is a real gentleman. Everybody knew him or Keylor Navas will be the first-choice goalkeeper at the Red Devils. Romero is not a bad goalkeeper but not woldclass while DDG belongs to the TOP 5 goalkeepers on the world (In my opinion this group contains Buffon, Neuer, Cech, Courtois and him).

Of course that De Gea will be number one spot in Manchester United. I think that he is maybe the best goalkeeper on the world at the moment and all that what was going on with his transfer to Real Madrid can't affect on his quality and talent. Now he should forget all that and work hard and all will be good for him.

Manchester United would be very stupid not to allow David De Gea to put back on his gloves.He definitely is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and it is such a pitty to have so good player on the bench,or even worse ,in the crowd.I am sure they will put him back in the starting lineup.

This is smart move for De Gea. After that failed transfer he can only work hard and try to be first option for Manchester United. He played against Liverpool and he had some great saves and he showed that he is still the best goalkeeper in Manchester United and I think that he deserve place in starting eleven every match....

There's no point for United to left him out of play for the season. I don't know if he has signed a new contract with the club which is a must if he wish to be in play this season. He was by far the best United player last year so I don't see any reason for De Gea to be back at his best if Van Gaal decides to give him a...

This is only right move for De Gea. I think that he is good goalkeeper and he will be number one in Manchester United this year but I will like to not because he need to learn a lesson. He must stay focus for his current club no matter on transfer speculation, he must be professional and he didn't, he expected transfer...
