Striker Roberto Soldado has completed his transfer from Premier League side Tottenham to Spanish top-flight outfit Villarreal in a deal worth a around 7 million pounds. Spurs have taken a big loss on this deal considering that they had spent a club record 26 million pounds to buy the 30-year-old striker from Valencia in 2013. He only managed to score 7 goals in 52 appearances in the Premier League.
"This is a very important step in my career," Soldado said after signing a three-year contract with Villarreal. "When their offer arrived I didn't hesitate as it's a great opportunity to return to Spain and join a big club." Soldado started his career at Real Madrid, where he scored an impressive 63 goals in 120 league appearances for Blancos B team. Then he moved to Getafe, then Valencia and then Tottenham. He has 12 caps for the Spanish national team.
"I've been away for two years in which I haven't been able to give my best, but I'm convinced that I can score lots of goals for Villarreal," Soldado added. "I've spent two very difficult years in England where I lost my confidence. Villarreal's interest has given me the enthusiasm to do great things. I want to return to play at a good level and score lots of goals. I want to go back to being the player I used to be."
Villarreal finished sixth in the Primera Liga last season and they are 9.00 at Bet365 to clinch a top-four finish this season.

Roberto Soldado was big talent, but he never showed that on pitch. He was big disappointment for Tottenham and they just want to sold him out. Villareal sign him, and they are hoping that he might be back in old form. I am not sure about that, but we will see. This season will be very interesting for him where he needs...

Soldado was huge disappointment for all the fans of Tottenham Hotspur. He never proved his quality in London. It was expected from him to get back to Spain.I suppose that he will get his form back, now when he is home again. With this deal Villareal is showing big ambitions for this season.

You don't have to be mathematician to calculate the loss of Totenham from Soldado transfers. He was total disappointment in these two years at White Hart Lane. I think the problems of the English clubs is that there is too much money in the Premier League these days and they've always pay the highest price for the players...
You don't have to be mathematician to calculate the loss of Totenham from Soldado transfers. He was total disappointment in these two years at White Hart Lane. I think the problems of the English clubs is that there is too much money in the Premier League these days and they've always pay the highest price for the players brought from Europe. Latest example before this one was Di Maria transfer, after MU bought him for 60mil pounds, just months later they sold him for 60mil euros! There are many other examples too and the English clubs have to stop wasting their money in such a stupid way.

I've always "loved" Roberto Soldado, I've admired him while he was in Valenica. He was great, and than he joins Tottenham and maybe made very big mistake. He didn't show anything there, not a bit from that Soldado that he was in Valencia. So now when he will be come back to Spain I think that it will be great move for him,...
