Christian Benteke should be the man that could take Liverpool back into the top four after a fifth-place finish last season, according to club legend Ian Rush. Aston Villa's Benteke was the seventh signing of the summer for Liverpool, who paid 32.5 million pounds to get him. The striker scored on his debut during Sunday's friendly match at Swindon.
Rush scored a record 346 goals in 15 years at Liverpool and he believes Benteke could become the most important signing of the summer for the Reds. “For me, he's a great signing," Rush told Sky Sports. "We didn't score as many as we'd like last season, so he's a great addition to the squad. He could be the difference between fourth and fifth, that's how good he was for Aston Villa."
“Brendan Rodgers will be looking at different options, different styles of play, and Benteke comes in to that. It's now about how the new players gel with him, but he'll certainly be given a great chance to prove what he can do," Rush added. “I think Benteke will help the midfielders, he'll give Henderson, Coutinho, Milner, Firmino a chance to play. Two years ago we were scoring goals and letting goals in. Last season we kept 14 clean sheets, so we kept a clean sheet but were not scoring. This season we need to score more goals and continue keeping them out. He's made changes and everyone is fighting for their place now.”
Christian Benteke is 17.00 at Bet365 to become the Premier League top goalscorer next season.

No doubt that Benteke will be very influential player in Liverpool's attack this season. I'm agree with Ian Rush that he could make a difference in the battle for the top 4. But also will be important the entire squad to be able to contribute not just one or two players. Will see if they will be a serous contender but...

But also will be important the entire squad to be able to contribute not just one or two players. Will see if they will be a serous contender but for sure Liverpool has the potential to be there.
