PSG head coach Laurent Blanc claims his club are close to completing the signing of Manchester United midfielder Angel Di Maria. The two sides have met in a friendly match in the United States on Thursday morning and PSG won 2-0. At the post-match press conference Blanc suggested that a deal for the 27-year-old Argentinian midfielder is nearing its conclusion.
"Manchester United and PSG are two big clubs and negotiations can be difficult, but we are close to the end," Laurent Blanc said. Di Maria was signed by Manchester United from Real Madrid last summer for a transfer record fee of 59.7 million pounds. The Argentinian made a promising start at United but then failed to deliver towards the end of the season.
Di Maria did not travel with the United squad for the United States tour. Louis van Gaal claimed he had no idea why his player has not reported for duty in the United States. "I don't know where he is," Van Gaal said. "You can ask it every week, but I don't answer that question. Maybe you know? I don't know. At Manchester United, we will announce something when it is already done and not when it is not done because it is a process and I have said it many, many times. We have to wait and see."
PSG are 1.14 at Bet365 to win the Ligue 1 title next season.

Yet another stupid Van Gaal's move. Some months ago United spent 60mil. pounds to buy Di Maria with the approval from the manager but now they sold him for around 60mil euros. Sorry but I'm missing the point here. Moreover Di Maria doesn't had enough chances on the field in the second half of the previous season.

great news for Di Maria's fans. It is obvious that in MU it was not enough space for him, he had better treatment in Real Madrid, but I think that PSG will give a credit to thin incredible midfielder. I respect Van Gaal but I don't know why he never gave him more space in the team. Guess this is the best for all.

This will be good move for both sides. Angel Di Maria is an amazing player and he needs to be key player in team. In Manchester United he couldn't be that and he was below his potential. Van Gaal saw that and he decide to sell him out. I think that PSG will make awesome job. He will be back soon in top form. I am happy...

His spell at Old Trafford was way too short and in fact Van Gaal didn't give enough time on the field to Di Maria in the second half of the season. He is a great player without a doubt and in the first games for United after his arriving from Real he was MU best player. Than Van Gaal starts often to put him on the bench...

For sure this a great transfer for him and he will be one of the PSG more important players in future.
