Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes has angered manager Louis van Gaal and will be sold. The Manchester United boss claimed the goalkeeper "refused to play" in the reserves. The Spain international, who was signed by United in January, was not included in the squad that is currently on tour in the United states.
"He doesn't follow my philosophy. There is no place for someone like that," said Van Gaal. The Red Devils' first-choice goalie David De Gea, also Spanish, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer but the two clubs have not reached an agreement on the transfer fee. Asked about De Gea's situation, Van Gaal said: "I cannot say anything. His attitude is fantastic. It is stupid to ask."
Valdes, six-time Primera Liga winner with Barcelona, joined Manchester United as a backup for De Gea after recovering from a serious knee injury. Van Gaan added: "Last year, he refused to play in the second team and there are other aspects you need as a keeper at United. When you are not willing to follow those principles, there is only one way and that is out. It is a big disappointment. It is a pity because we have given him the opportunity to rehabilitate, gave him a contract and then he is fit to play." Valdes is under contract with Manchester United until the end of next season.
Manchester United are 6.00 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title next season.

I think that most of players do not understand that they should be like soldiers, going where they are needed, so from that point of view I understand why they wanna sold him. But it is maybe win win situation, for both sides. Valdes maybe needs a team that will see him as a number one, and he deserves it indeed. I would...

Victor Valdes, if you ask me, is very "overrated" goalkeeper. He had "luck" to play many years in Barcelona, but in my opinion he is not that world-class goalkeeper to play at club that is that big. I really don't want to offend him or his fans, but I'm telling just my opinion. When it comes to him and Manchester United,...

When it comes to him and Manchester United, just like sharpe, I was very surprised when they signed him last year, and now if they sell him, it won't be so "strange" to me.

The transfer of Valdes in United was strange for me from the very beginning. Before his arriving United second keeper was Anders Lindegaard who he had play game or two for year and half so obviously United doesn't needed another one. Before his arriving United second keeper was Anders Lindegaard who he had play game or two for year and half so obviously United doesn't needed another one. If Valdes refuses to play for the reserves he is guilty, because this is not a big thing in England, many first team players participate in the reserves games when they coming back from injury, out of form e.t.c. From the other hand obviously nobody seems to understand Van Gall "philosophy", me either.

Victor Valdes is goalkeeper that has won everything that one player can win, both with Barcelona and Spanish national team.It is pitty to see so good goalkeeper on the bench. He still can offer a lot to big teams,so I think that he will find some club that can match his ambitions.
