Robin van Persie was greeted by thousands of Fenerbahce fans in Istanbul after sealing his move from Manchester United. The 31-year-old striker has admitted that he was expecting his exit from Manchester United. The Dutch international confirmed that he held negotiations with other clubs before deciding to join Fenerbahce. Manchester United received 4.8 million pounds from the Turkish club.
Van Persie insisted he holds no grudge against the Red Devils for his transfer. However, he didn't mention anything about speaking to former manager Louis van Gaal before his departure, even though journalists have asked him about that. "It was a situation where I could see it coming, if I'm really honest," the striker said. "I could get used to the idea for quite a bit. It was not a situation where it was just happening from day to day so I could get used to the situation – that is football."
"From my side, there are no hard feelings with how it went. It's part of football, it's part of life. I had a good moment with the players the day before I came to Istanbul so that was special. Then you see that everyone really appreciated my time there - that was important for me. I highly appreciate the work of Ed Woodward, the CEO of Manchester United. The way he dealt with this transfer is from a high level, it's very classy. He proved he's a true gentleman in the way he dealt with the whole situation. Ed, if you're listening, thank you."
Wayne Rooney, the main striker at Manchester United after Van Persie's departure, is 17.00 at Bet365 to become the Premier League top goalscorer next season.

I agree with everything that Robin said in that interview except for the Ed Woodward's part. I'm not so sure that his transfers follows any logic or strategy and for sure he overspend for every single player that he brings to the club. In fact I'm sure that if sir Alex was still a manager of United, van Persie would still be a part of the team, but anyway life goes on for him and I wish him all the best with the new team.

This is normal situation in professional footbal.Robin Van Persie did not spend 10 years in Manchester United,in that case it would be hard to leave the club.He is no more first choice and it is normal for a player of such a class to find a team where will he have minutes and time to show that he is still great player.
