Crystal Palace have completed the signing of midfielder Yohan Cabaye from French champions Paris St-Germain for a club-record transfer fee of £10m. The midfielder, aged 29, has signed a three-year contract with his new club. The transfer fee could rise to around 13 million pounds with add-ons.
Cabaye was bought by PSG from Newcastle for £19m in January 2014 but only managed to start 13 matches for the French side, who won a domestic treble last season. The previous transfer record for Crystal Palace was 7 million pounds, paid to Wigan for midfielder James McArthur.
Palace manager Alan Pardew knows Cabaye very well as he signed him from Lille in 2011 during his spell as Newcastle boss. Cabaye had great performances under Pardew, scoring 18 goals in 93 appearances for Newcastle. Cabaye says that palace could finish inside the top eight next season. He added: "I also know the gaffer and have worked with him before and I'm confident with him. I want to do my best for him because he's made a big effort to get me to come here, as well as the chairman."
Crystal Palace are 3.00 at Bet365 to finish in the top half of the Premier League table next season.

He is definitely a very good midfielder and in fact very experienced one in the Premier League, so will be really the leading player in the Palace's midfield. I think this is money well spend from the club and particularly by Alan Pardew the manager of Crystal Palace. He and Cabaye had worked together for many years in Newcastle and I'm sure that the manager had personally insisted for this transfer.

Yohan Cabaye was fantastic during his spell at Necwastle United. He played a lot and regularly was showing a lot of quality. In PSG he did not had so many chance to show what he can do,so this is very smart move for him. Also,Crystal Palace fans will be delighted to see this player in their club.

I really respect Yohan Cabaye and his play. I was really surprised with his skills when he was in Newcastle United. Last season in PSG he didn't played that good, but also he didn't get that much minutes to play there. Now he is back in Premier League, and I think that that is great move from him. Crystal Palace are "enforcing"...

Crystal Palace are "enforcing" their squad this summer and it will be interesting to see how they will play next season.
