Manchester United have agreed a transfer fee with Serie A side Torino for Italian right-back Matteo Darmian, according to Sky Sports. The two clubs have been negotiating for some time, Torino had rejected two bids from the Red Devils but it seems now they have agreed on a £12.7m price tag.
Darmian can cover several roles in defence, he can play both as a right back and as a left back and he can also play as a central defender thanks to his height and good aerial abilities. Manchester United have been looking for a strong right back after last season Antonio Valencia was moved from midfield into that position.
The Red Devils also have Rafael for that position, but he played just 11 times last season, partly due to injuries. Louis van Gaal is now looking to sell Rafael, with Galatasaray, Fiorentina and Napoli interested in the 24-year-old Brazilian. Barcelona full back Dani Alves was linked with a move to Man United but he eventually extended his contract with the Catalan giants.

Darmian is really talented player and it will be interesting to see is he capable to play football at top level. Remember United brought to the club Vidic and Evra which had similar status in European football as Darmian, and they legends of the club now. We will have to wait to see that is for sure

Man United having tough time to bring any defender in the last year, although it was a main target in front of Van Gaal.Beside that since Van Gaal arrival they overspend for every one of their new buys, I've had never watched Darmian as long as I remember but I hope he is a great player and will fit in the squad.Obviously...

Darmian could be top buy for United.Mateo si reallly fantastic defender and I dont think that Louis Van Gaal will made a mistake like he did last season. United still needs to find one or two players of top quality and then they will be biggest favourites for the tittle in Premier League.
