The issue in Australia regarding whether online betting sites William Hill and Ladbrokes are bypassed local laws with their in-play betting services has gotten bigger as “The Australian” news publication reported that bet365's betCall offering fell into the same category as William Hill's Click to Call and Ladbrokes' Quickcall product.
"The Interactive Gambling Act 2001 prohibits the placing of bets on events that have started except via telephone," said the newspaper explains, noting that all three companies get around this requirement by accepting wagers only from bettors with their computer microphones switched on.
Ladbrokes and William Hill deny violating any laws and say that they've sought legal advice and regulatory review.
The Australian Communications and Media Authority requested that the Australian federal police get involved to investigate the legality of the activities. Australia's Tabcorp gambling group is also said to have request a legal assessment.

The rules and laws in any particular country have to be respected by the companies operating there but sometimes there are some really insignificant points in the laws that I don't think are so important. Anyway I believe that Australian authorities and the involved companies will reach an agreement on this matter even...

Anyway I believe that Australian authorities and the involved companies will reach an agreement on this matter even if the bookies have to pay some fines.
