Brazil international midfielder Paulinho has decided to join Chinese outfit Guangzhou Evergrande from Tottenham. The Spurs will receive £9.9m for the transfer, after having paid nearly 17 million to Corinthians to buy Paulinho in 2013.
Paulinho, aged 26 and with 32 Brazil caps to his name, made 67 appearances for Tottenham. Last season he had 27 Premier League appearances but 12 of them were as a substitute. Paulinho tweeted: "I'd like to thank Tottenham and all the supporters who welcomed me very well during those two years in England. I will always cheer for Spurs."
He has agreed to a four-year contract with Guangzhou Evergrande, the reigning Chinese champions, managed by former Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari. The Brazilian coach joined the club in June on a two-and-a-half-year contract. They are currently sitting third in the league table but are just two points behind leaders Beijing Guoan. Guangzhou have won four consecutive Chinese Super League titles.
Tottenham are 7.00 at Bet365 to finish inside the Premier League top four next season.

This is good transfer for Tottenham and Paulinho. Tottenham will receive £9.9m for the transfer for player who was reserve and Paulinho will earn lot of money. Chinese side Guangzhou is one of the best clubs in domestic league and they will play in Asian Champions league. For Paulinho key fact is that coach of Guangzhou...

Paulinho came to Tottenham as great player but he didn't showed lot of expected quality on the field, and results are obvious. Tottenham was so far from Champions league spot. Now he i going to China where he will get lot of money, and released his place for younger player who will bring results for Tottenham

He was regularly in the starting eleven for most of the games the season before last and with really solid performances back then. Seems a little strange that he is going to continue his career so far away in China but not in Europe. But obviously the offer from Guangzhou Evergrande is the best that Spurs received so they still will take back part of the money which they paid for him back in 2013.

Paulinho was one of bigger "enforces" that Tottenham signed when they sold Bale to Real Madrid. He was very promising player and everyone expected from him to be one of the leaders of this team. But something happened and Paulinho didn't showed his best football in England. I'm not so sure if this transfer will be good...
