Phil Neville is currently in talks with Valencia about assistant manager role. The Spanish club claimed the former England defender is already their new assistant manager but it seems an agreement has not yet been reached. Valencia announced the appointment on their official website but Neville said they are still negotiating.
Neville was a coach at Manchester United during the spell of David Moyes and has been working as a television pundit after leaving the Old Trafford club. Ian Cathro, the former Valencia assistant manager, is set to join Newcastle to work under Steve McClaren.
Valencia head coach Nuno has praised Neville's "extensive experience" and "knowledge" and also added that the former England international will fit into the team's philosophy. Neville played for Manchester United for two decades starting in 1995 and won six Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League in 1999 with the Red Devils. He joined Everton in 2005 and made over 300 appearances for the Toffees.
Valencia finished fourth in Primera Liga last season and they are 41.00 at Bet365 to win the title next term.

I don't see a reason why will Valencia change coach. They played very well last season and Nuno Espirito Santo was doing great job. They played great football, they have qualification for champions league and I am sure that they will play group stage of that competition. I don't see what else they can ask for...

Neville is great guy and this is perfect opportunity for him to prove his manager class. Primera is top league, Valencia is great club with decent ambitions, and I believe that he could manage this club in order to have great success. This will depend on lot of factors, but he has great experience and I believe in him

Phil Nevile has good chances to become good manager. It is good for him if is offered to him to lead Valencia. Now they, after few years, again have a strong team, with 3-4 really very good players. He would be in position to work on his way at Mestalla so it would be probably the best solution for him.

If Phil Nevile's ambition is to be a manager in the Premier League one day, and I'm sure it is, it will be a great experience for him to go to Spain and start as an assistant coach in Valencia. The British football is very different from this on the continent and this could only help him to understand the European football...

The British football is very different from this on the continent and this could only help him to understand the European football better and to learn from that experience. Great opportunity for him.

Phil Neville was a good player and he have a lot of experience in football, but I'm not so sure that he has that much "knowing" when it comes to managers job. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that with his experience he will be a great help to their manager Nuno Espirito Santo, which is doing a great job in Valencia. I wish them...
