Back Premier League: Leicester City sign Robert Huth on three-year contract

Leicester City have confirmed the signing of German defender Robert Huth from Stoke City. The fee was not disclosed but we do know that the player has signed a three-year deal with the Foxes. The 30-year-old defender was on loan at Leicester in the second half of last season and helped the club avoid relegation in his 14 Premier League appearances.

He started his career in the Premier League at Chelsea, then moved to Middlesbrough and later spent six seasons at Styoke City. Huth is the second summer signing for Leicester after they have confirmed the arrival of Austrian defender Christian Fuchs. After the deal was confirmed Huth tweeted: "STOKE YOU HAVE BEEN SENSATIONAL!!! Thanks for everything, I'll never forget it! Now the sexy football show rolls into Leicester!!"

Huth has made 187 appearances and scored 18 goals for Stoke City. He was brought to England by Claudio Ranieri back in 2001, when the Italian manager was in charge at Stamford Bridge. He spent four seasons at Chelsea and earned 19 caps for Germany until 2009.

Leicester are 1.20 at Bet365 to avoid relegation from the Premier League next season.
