Back Premier League: Liverpool reject offer for Raheem Sterling

Liverpool have formally rejected a second offer from Manchester City for forward Raheem Sterling. The offer was 35.5 million pounds but it would have gone up to 40 million with various add-ons and extras.

The Reds have set a 50-million pounds price tag on the 20-year-old forward, who has also been linked with Real Madrid and Arsenal. Last week Liverpool received an offer of 25 million pounds from Manchester City, which they promptly rejected.

Liverpool brought in Sterling from Queens Park Rangers in 2010 and have him on a contract until 2017. However, the youngster has rejected a new deal that would have seen him earn 100,000 pounds per week. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers said that he expects Sterling to remain under his command until his contract expires.

Manchester City - 1/6 Liverpool - 6/1 Real Madrid - 7/1 Chelsea - 8/1 Arsenal - 10/1
