Chelsea are getting close to agreeing a season-long loan deal for Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, according to BBC Sport. The 29-year-old striker is currently with the Colombia national team at the Copa America. He spent last season on loan at Manchester United but was rather disappointing, scoring just four goals in 29 appearances. United could have signed him for just over 40 million pounds but the Red Devils have turned down that chance.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho responded to reports linking Chelsea with a move for Falcao by saying: "It hurts me that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United. If I can help Falcao reach his level again, I will do it."
Radamel Falcao was an expensive signing in 2013 when Monaco splashed 50 million pounds to get him from Atletico Madrid, where he had scored 70 goals in just two seasons. Before the move to Spain Falcao spent two seasons at FC Porto, where he scored 72 goals. Chelsea need a striker after releasing veteran Didier Drogba.
Chelsea are 2.50 at Bet365 to defend their Premier League title next season.

I agree with you rikimartin4444 about Mourinho's ability to sign top player for low prices.Every player wants to play for him.With Falcao in team,he has new tactical possibilites .With his superb goal instict,I am sure that Falcao bring a lot of points with goals to Chelsea.

I'm not happy cause of it, since i'm his huge fan. Now he is joining my favourite team on one year loan. Thing about loan is that Monaco can't pay him anymore coz financial fair play, and no other team is willing to pay huge paycheck for a player that has yet to get back into shape. Him and Costa will be reunited again, as once when they terrorised goalkeepers in La Liga.

Sharpe,you forget that his price is extremely big.Monaco would not sell him for a less than 40 milion euros.Falcao had big injury and after that he is still looking for form. He is fantastic player,but no one will paly so much money and not to be sure that he can contribute a lot to the team.

Mourinho is fantastic in transfer windows.He will now have 2 fantastic strikers in the squad,Falcao and Diego Costa.We will finally see Falcao in Champions League,I think that he can again become one of the best goalscorers in Europe ,he only needs a chance.He has naturel feeling for scoring goals.

Falkao is excellent striker, and I believe that Mourinho will use him on a right way. He will do great as Drogba's replacement. They are players with same style of play, and I believe that he can do more that Drogba did previous season. He is one of mine favorite players, and I wish him all of the best

I've said many times that Radamel Falcao is not anymore the same Falcao that he was before his hard injury that he suffered in Monaco. This season he played for Manchester United and he didn't show anything special, so it's a risky move from Chelsea and Jose Mourinho. But on the other way if someone can bring Falcao "back"...
