Back Premier League: Rosicky trying to persuade Petr Cech to join Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky admits that he has spoken to fellow countryman Petr Cech about a possible move to the Emirates. However, the midfielder is well aware that the goalkeeper will be tempted by several clubs. Rosicky and Cech have been team-mates in the Czech Republic national team for no less than 13 years.

Cech has one year remaining on his contract with Chelsea but he is looking for a new club after being second choice behind Thibaut Courtois at the Blues. Reports suggest that he has turned down an offer from Paris Saint-Germain because he would like to remain in the Premier League.

“Obviously I would be lying if I didn't tell you that I had been speaking to him because we have known each other for a very long time,” Rosicky told Sky Sports. “Petr wants a change of scenery, let's say, so I don't think he will have a lack of clubs interested in him. We will see how it ends but in this case I will not interfere at all from both sides. It's his decision or Arsenal's decision if they want to go in that way. I don't know if Arsenal really want him or not. That's not the right question for me but he's a very good goalkeeper. He's a proven goalkeeper.”

Arsenal are 5.50 to win the Premier League title next season.
