Back Primera Liga: Barcelona sign Aleix Vidal from Sevilla

Reigning Primera Liga champions and fresh Champions League winners Barcelona have completed the signing of Sevilla defender Aleix Vidal for a reported fee of 16 million pounds. However, Barcelona are still under the effect of a global transfer ban, they are not allowed to sign players until the end of 2015 after being found guilty of breaching FIFA's rules regarding the transfer of players aged under 18.

They have secured the signing of 25-year-old Vidal on a five-year contract right away but the full back will not be able to play for his new team until January 2016. Vidal is the man who should replace Dani Alves as the Brazilian's contract is running out.

Vidal will surely fit in nicely at Barcelona as he is Catalan by birth. He started his career at rivals Espanyol, then eventually joined Sevilla and won the Europa League last month. Before moving to Sevilla Vidal played a few seasons at Almeria where he has scored 17 goals in 120 appearances. Last season with Sevilla he scored four goals in 31 appearances.

Barcelona are 1.72 at Bet365 to defend their Primera Liga title next season.
