Paddy Power's head of external affairs, Adam Smith, will take on a new role at Sky Betting and Gaming as head of corporate communications according to marketing chief Rob Painter.
PR Week reported that Smith will work alongside CEO Richard Flint and Sky's management team as he takes on responsibility for the company's relationships with politicians, regulators and the media.
Smith had spent 10 years in the political world and spent two years as a special adviser at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
Painter told PR Week: "As an independent company we are growing up quickly. The way our brand and corporate profile is perceived is an increasingly important factor in determining the success of the business."

Paddy Power are known for their aggressive marketing strategy and probably after the appointment of their ex head of external affairs Adam Smith who will be responsible for the relationships with the media as a part of his new job at Sky Betting, I guess we can expect that the changes in their advertising campaigns will be in similar direction. This can be a good tactics but only if is in the right ratios.
