Christian Benteke has revealed that he is unsure of his future at Aston Villa, according to Sky Sports. Erik Kismet, Benteke's representative, said the striker wants a move to a club that has qualified for the Champions League. However, Aston Villa don't want to sell him for less than 32.5 million pounds, which is the minimum fee release clause in his contract.
Kismet is looking to set up a meeting with Villa chief executive Tom Fox and manager Tim Sherwood to discuss the Belgium international's future. Sherwood doesn't want Benteke to go and he insists to extend the striker's contract. Benteke, aged 24, scored 49 goals in 101 appearances for Aston Villa. Last season he bagged 12 goals, despite struggling with an Achilles injury.
"It's about him, he knows what I want and I'll let him do the job," Benteke said about his agent's statement. "I don't know, I don't think about Aston Villa now, I did my season with Villa and now I am focused with the national team. It's important to play. If you want to be in first 11 you have to play in your club." Benteke has been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal and also with Liverpool but the Reds won't play Champions League football next season.

Teams are trying to keep their key players although they are unhappy because they are unable to buy such a good player. They will make big profit, but squad will be with less quality. And I agree with h34dhunt3r about waste of his talent. It's time for Benteke to play for bigger club and show us all his quality.

I don't understand why teams keep trying to keep unhappy players. I get that part where they want to make profit, but 40m euros (converted from punds) is a lot and player doesn't worth that much. But part where he's their best player by far is understandable, and they want to make some money. For me he is top class, prolly...

I am only thinking about price that Aston Villa will be asking for him.There are rumours that Benteke will cost about 20m pounds. He is top quality striker,there is not doubt about that,but he never played in big clubs,so Liverpool bosses still do not know how will he hande the pressure.

Yes Christian Benteke is a class player and maybe he had enough from Villa's attempts just to stay alive in the Premier League. I like the players who are loyal to their clubs but in this case we have to much of a difference in ambitions of the club and the player. That's why I don't blame him for wanting to leave but if...

Benteke is a very good player, and definitely deserves to play in better club. This season, he was the key Villa player. I expect his big transfer in this transfer period. I think he would be a very good boost for Manchester United, if they sell Falcao.
