Back Primera Liga: Real Madrid to appoint Rafael Benitez as new manager

Spanish coach Rafael Benitez is expected to be the new Real Madrid manager according to BBC Sport. Benitez still has a match to play with Napoli, his current side, but after his season ends Real Madrid are expected to make the move official. Napoli are currently fourth in the Serie A table and will miss out on Champions League football qualification.

The former Liverpool manager is now 55 years old and has led Napoli to Coppa Italia glory last season. He has won two Primera Liga titles before leaving Spain, both with Valencia, and he also won the UEFA Cup. The Spaniard had also been liked with the West Ham job, available after Sam Allardyce departure, but it's quite obvious that he would prefer to manage Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti was sacked as Real Madrid manager on Monday after two seasons in charge. Ancelotti, also aged 55, has won the 10th European Cup for Real Madrid last season but this term they got knocked out by Juventus in the semi-finals while rivals Barcelona won the Primera Liga.

Real Madrid are 6/4 at Bet365 to win the Primera Liga next season.
