Back Premier League: Jack Wilshere ready to return after injury

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere declares himself ready and eager to return into the first team after playing for the Gunners' Under 21 side following an ankle injury. He had two operations on his left ankle following an injury suffered in a match against Manchester United last November. He played the full 90 minutes for the Under 21 side on Tuesday alongside Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby.

"You can train as much as you like but you can't get that match fitness unless you play," Wilshere said. "I feel like I'm ready to play some part. When you're injured you look at your comeback date and the games around that time. The one that stands out is the FA Cup semi-final against Reading on 18 April but even before that we've got big games and we've got to go to Manchester United as well on 17 May so there's a chance to play this season."

The initial surgery was performed in November but Wilshere also had to go through another procedure in February to remove pins in his ankle. Arsenal are currently second behind Chelsea in the Premier League table. They will play Burnley away on Saturday before the FA Cup semi final at Wembley against Reading. Then they will have the big showdown against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on 26 April.

Arsenal are 8/15 at Bet365 to win Saturday's match at Burnley.
