Back Serie A: Roma vs Napoli preview

A vital clash in the Champions League race will take place on Saturday as second-placed Roma host fifth-placed Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico. Six points separate the two teams, with Sampdoria and Lazio between them. Napoli won the reverse fixture 2-0, that was their third consecutive win against Roma and Jose Callejon scored in each of those games. Roma have the better overall record though, they have won 52 times against Napoli compared to the Partenopei's 41 wins.

Roma have dropped out of the title race after a poor run of just two wins in eleven league games in 2015, with both wins coming against relegation-threatened teams. However, they remained tough to beat as they lost just once this year. They haven't managed to win at home since November and the last two matches were lost, including a painful 3-0 loss against Fiorentina in the Europa League. Roma will be without Gervinho while captain Francesco Totti is in doubt.

Napoli are also going through a rough patch, they haven't won a single league game in March. Just before the international break they nearly got beaten by Atalanta but a late goal from Duvan Zapata rescued a point. They do have a chance to win the Coppa Italia though after a 1-1 draw at Lazio in the first leg of their semi-final clash. They are also through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League. Gokhan Inler will miss the game through suspension while Michu remains on the injured list.

Probable line-ups:

Roma: De Sanctis - Florenzi, Manolas, Astori, Holebas - Pjanic, De Rossi, Nainggolan, Ljajic - Iturbe, Ibarbo

Napoli: Andujar - Maggio, Albiol, Koulibaly, Ghoulam - Gargano, Lopez, Hamsik, Gabbiadini, Callejon - Higuain

My prediction: 1-1 draw.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
