Andy Murray moved closer to a third Miami Open title, he reached the semi-finals after a hard-fought victory over Dominic Thiem. Murray seemed to have a shoulder problem during the first set but managed to recover and claim a 3-6 6-4 6-1 win. This was the first ATP Tour quarter-final appearance for youngster Dominic Thiem.
Murray will face Tomas Berdych in the semi-finals. “I started to return better, especially in the third set," the Briton said after the match. "I really struggled at the start of the match. I struggled on the first serve returns and even when I got them into play I was leaving them short and he was able to dictate the points. He's such a powerful guy, so if he's dictating from inside the court you end up doing a lot of running."
Murray added: “I played pretty decent in the first set. I had one bad game on my serve, but otherwise hit the ball well but did not return well when I needed too. I started doing that towards the end of the second set and was more confident in the third. There's a fine line between going for winners and trying to finish points.” Eighth seed Berdych had a fairly straightforward victory against Argentina's Juan Monaco 6-3 6-4 in their quarter-final match. The meeting between Berdych and Murray will be a rematch of their Australian Open semi-final, that time the Scot won in four sets.
Here are the odds for the semi-final at Bet365:
Andy Murray win - 8/13 Tomas Berdych win - 13/10

Very tough victory for Andy Murray against Dominic Thiem and he will face another tough opponent in the semi- finals against Tomas Berdych. Everybody expecting Murray - Djokovic final, and this will be great if happens but I wonder if Berdych can spoil the party and defeat Andy.

Andy Murray is definitely one of the best tennis players right now. He is in very good shape and just like Novak Djokovic he is setting his form just right. Against "weakest" opponents they are playing just enough to win and they are not wasting too much energy. But now it will not be the same, they will need to give 100%...

But now it will not be the same, they will need to give 100% of them to win in semi finals and I think that they will play each other.
