Back UEFA Champions League: Borussia Dortmund vs Juventus preview

Borussia Dortmund surely believe in their chances to qualify ahead of the second leg against Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday, considering that a 1-0 win would be enough for them to advance to the quarter finals. Juventus won the first leg 2-1 in February but the away goal scored by Dortmund could prove decisive.

Dortmund seem to have recovered lately, they moved away from the relegation zone in the Bundesliga but their last two matches were both goalless draws. On the other hand Juventus are totally dominating their domestic league, they are 14 points clear at the top of the Serie A table and only an unthinkable disaster could prevent them from claiming the title. Juve have won their last two league matches but were knocked out of the Italian Cup by Fiorentina.

Juventus have conceded at least one goal in four of their last six matches, so Dortmund might gain some hope from that. The German defence is looking solid lately, with four clean sheets in their last six games. Kevin Grosskreutz and Lukasz Piszczek should miss out through injury for Dortmund while Juventus could be without Andrea Pirlo, who is back from a calf knock but might not be rushed into the starting line up.

Probable line-ups:

Borussia Dortmund: Weidenfeller - Kirch, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer - Kehl, Gundogan - Reus, Kagawa, Mkhitaryan - Immobile

Juventus: Buffon - Bonucci, Chiellini, Lichtsteiner, Evra - Marchisio, Pereyra, Pgoba - Vidal - Morata, Tevez

My prediction: 1-1 draw.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Dortmund win - 5/4 Draw - 12/5 Juventus win - 5/2
