Back Premier League: Burnley vs Manchester City preview

Burnley play host to Manchester United on Saturday evening in a clash between two teams that are in desperate need of points. City need the three points in order to keep the pressure on league leaders Chelsea while Burnley are desperate to gather at least a point in their battle for survival in the premier League.

Two weeks ago Liverpool defeated Manchester City 2-1 but the Citizens bounced back with a 2-0 win over Leicester City. They currently are five points behind leaders Chelsea but the Blues have a game in hand. Manuel Pellegrini might change his squad selection considering that his team face a decisive Champions League match at Barcelona on Wednesday. However, he will surely have in mind the upset that Burnley produced at the Etihad Stadium in December. Back then the Clarets pulled off an amazing comeback from two goals down to snatch a point and even came close to winning the match.

Since then Burnley have not been doing particularly well though, they are without victory in seven matches and are currently 19th in the league table. Moreover, the next fixtures are quite tough for the Clarets: a trip to Southampton and then home games against Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. Dean Marney and Kevin Long remain injured for the home side while Manchester City will have Samir Nasri available again but he might be rested for next week's Champions League clash.

Probable line-ups:

Burnley: Heaton - Trippier, Keane, Shackell, Mee - Kightly, Jones, Arfield, Boyd - Barnes, Ings

Man City: Hart - Zabaleta, Kompany, Mangala, Clichy - Silva, Fernando, Toure, Navas - Aguero, Bony

My prediction: Man City to win 2-0.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Burnley win - 13/2 Draw - 4/1 Man City win - 4/9
