FC Porto will be looking to extend their unbeaten Champions League record this season when they face Basel in the second leg of their last-16 tie on Tuesday. The Portuguese champions have won six and drawn three European matches this season but they will have to secure a win to qualify after the first leg ended 1-1.
Porto have lost just once in seven matches against Swiss opponents and are also unbeaten in eight matches at home in Europe. However, they have lost five times out of six at this stage of the competition. They only managed to reach the quarter finals once, and that was during the memorable campaign of 2004 under Jose Mourinho. They are currently second in the Portuguese league, but their recent form has been solid with seven wins out of the last eight matches.
Basel have won three of their last four matches and scored 10 goals in the process. They have suffered a 4-2 defeat top Young Boys right after the first leg against Porto but they are seven points clear at the top of the Swiss top flight table. However, they have never won a match in Portugal, losing two out of five. Porto will be without star striker Jackson Martinez while Basel will be without suspended Marek Suchy.
Probable line-ups:
Porto: Fabiano - Danilo, Marcano, Maicon, Sandro - Herrera, Casemiro - Tello, Brahimi, Quaresma - Aboubakar
Basel: Vaclik - Safari, Suchy, Schar, Xhaka - Frei, Zuffi - El Nenny, Streller, Gashi - Gonzalez
My prediction: Porto to win 2-1.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

My prediction for tonight is that Porto will win and also I think that they will score at least two goals.

I wonder if this can turn into a surprising result. Porto didn't have a loss in this years tournament and I believe that is not impossible this streak to finish in this game. It doesn't seems very likely but I'm ready to bet a few euros on a Basel win although Porto was the better side in the first game but you never know.

This one is pretty much clear for me. In a first game in Switzerland - Basel scored early in a game and was defending for the rest of the game. This one is pretty much clear for me. In a first game in Switzerland - Basel scored early in a game and was defending for the rest of the game. After many chances, Porto managed to score and goes into todays match with a huge lead. Only scenario where I though Basel is gonna advance was by them winning with at least two goals difference in a first game. Since that did not happen, Porto is huge favourite and going into quater finals shouldn't be that hard for them, since they did most of their job two weeks ago. My prediciton: - Result: 3:1 for Porto, with them leading entire game; - Man of the match: Hector Herrera
