Back FA Cup: Manchester United vs Arsenal preview

Big match in the FA Cup quarter finals on Monday night as Manchester United face Arsenal in a clash that sees both clubs desperate to advance and get their hands on the cup in order to please their disappointed fans. Arsenal are still in the Champions League but after the 3-1 home defeat to Monaco in the first leg their chances of making the quarter finals are mostly theoretical. Both teams are still fighting for a top-four spot in the Premier League but the FA Cup remains their only real chance of winning a trophy this season.

United secured a narrow 1-0 win over Newcastle in midweek, all thanks to a late goal. They have lost just two games out of their last 22 but their style of play has never been impressive this season. On the other hand Arsenal have lost three of their last 15 league matches and have been prolific in attack, having scored 19 goals in their last 12 matches. United have scored 13 goals in their last 12 matches. However, the Red Devils have been dominating the Gunners lately, Arsene Wenger's men have won just one of the last 12 meetings against United.

Robin van Persie is still injured for United but Michael Carrick should be back in the starting eleven. Danny Welbeck is ready to make his first appearance at Old Trafford against his former club but he will most likely start on the bench. January signing Gabriel Paulista is out of contention due to a hamstring injury while Jack Wilshere remains sidelined.

Probable line-ups:

Manchester United: De Gea - Smalling, Evans, Rojo - Valencia, Herrera, Blind, Young - Rooney, Di Maria; Falcao

Arsenal: Szczesny - Gibbs, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Bellerin - Cazorla, Coquelin, Ramsey - Ozil, Giroud, Sanchez

My prediction: 1-1 draw.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Man United win - 6/4 Draw - 12/5 Arsenal win - 2/1
