Back Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal preview

Tottenham and Arsenal kick off this weekend's Premier League action with the traditional North London derby on Saturday at lunchtime. There is even more at stake this time along with the historic rivalry between the two clubs as they are now competing against each other for Champions League qualification. Arsenal defeated the Spurs 1-0 at White Hart Lane last season and finished above their rivals, as they did in every season in the Premier League era. The reverse fixture this season ended 1-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Now the Gunners have a two-point advantage over the Spurs but they are in great shape at the moment, having won five consecutive matches after the New Year's Day defeat at the hands of Southampton. Alexis Sanchez will not be available for the match due to an injury but Arsenal have managed without him last weekend when they defeated Aston Villa 5-0.

Tottenham defeated West Bromwich Albion last weekend thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane, who has taken his tally to 20 goals in all competitions this season. Nabil Bentaleb will be available again for the Lilywhites as he returned from the Africa Cup of Nations. Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor should start the match on the bench. Arsenal are still without Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Debuchy and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are still sidelined by injury. Danny Welbeck is not fully fit yet and could be named among the substitutes.

Probable line-ups:

Tottenham: Lloris - Walker, Fazio, Vertonghen, Rose - Mason, Bentaleb - Eriksen, Dembele, Lamela - Kane

Arsenal: Ospina - Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal - Ramsey, Coquelin - Ozil, Cazorla, Walcott - Giroud

My prediction: 2-2 draw.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Tottenham win - 9/4 Draw - 5/2 Arsenal win - 13/10
