Back FA Cup: Coutinho will become world class, says Brendan Rodgers

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was delighted the impact of Philippe Coutinho as the Brazilian youngster helped the Reds come from behind to beat Bolton 2-1 in their FA Cup replay on Wednesday. Coutinho scored the winning goal with a superb strike in stoppage time, minutes after Raheem Sterling had scored the equaliser. The Brazilian attacking midfielder has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool

"You would pay money to watch the kid," said Rodgers about 22-year-old Coutinho. "He is a great role model for lots of technical players in this country. He will become world class in the next couple of years. Luis Suarez grew and grew in this team and I can see Coutinho the same way, although he might not be as prolific. Signing a new deal shows he is really committed to Liverpool and his development."

Liverpool will face Crystal Palace in the fifth-round and Rodgers is confident after his team's recent results. "We have got a great habit at the minute which is winning games," he added. "You can't question the character. They have shown a real strong mentality in my time here. At 1-0 I expected us to win it. The confidence at the moment is very high. Our composure after the penalty - it was never a penalty - was very good. We scored two and could have had many more."

Liverpool are 5/1 at Bet365 to win the FA Cup this season.
