Media reports in Vietnam reveal that police have busted an illegal online gambling ring resulting in the arrest of ten people including the leader, 33-year-old To Cong Hung, owner of a gay magazine based in Ho Chi Minh City.
Police said that the servers were based in the Philippines and $47 million in wagers were made through the operation.
Investigations uncovered that Hung ran the illegal business for months and had his sister and others open bank accounts to accept wagers. Money was eventually converted into virtual currency and points on 12bet.com.
Police continue to investigate the ring who also accepted millions of US dollars during its operation.

That is another hit against the illegal online gambling although I think that there is thousands of those "bookmakers" across the world and that will be just a small step against them. In many of this cases the Philippines are involved one way or another so that can't be accidental incidents.
