Fifa presidential candidate David Ginola comes forward with a revolutionary idea: the men's and women's football World Cups to be staged together. The two tournaments are currently hosted separately, by different countries and in different years. The former French player wants "one global spectacular" and he believes such a decision would take the World Cup and women's football "to new heights".
The former Tottenham footballer is being paid £250,000 by a UK bookmaker Paddy Power to run for the presidency of the world football's governing body. In order to be eligible the elections Ginola would need the support of five football associations and he also has to prove active involvement in football for two of the past five years.
"Despite talented players, dedicated fans and far-reaching interest around the sport, women's football continues to be limited by both attitudinal and financial discrimination. In this day and age, it's just not good enough," said Ginola. "One of the key ways we'll make a difference is by adopting the Olympic model that sees all athletes compete under one banner, in one country, during one timeframe."
You can already bet on the winners of the 2018 World Cup, Germany are 9/2 at Bet365 to win it.

Somehow I believe that nobody has any chance except Blatter. He has large base in countries in Asia and Africa, and I am expecting his new win. Candidates like Ginola and Figo are just too weak, without any serious support, and I believe that they don't have enough power in order to be real rivals to Blatter. One man could...

One man could do that, but he is not candidate on this elections an his name is Platini

How great will that be. I love football and I love to watch everyone who plays it. I live in St Petersburg and I go on every match of Zenit, and all matches of Zenit young category. So it will be great to world cup for younger players to be when real World cup and something like that can really be great idea. And also I...

And also I was reading about that Louis Figo will candidate for president of FIFA and if he do it I think he can be the best president and I will support him.

I don't believe that this is going to happen. Will be for good of the women's football but first David Ginola will have to win the elections, and that will be very tough. Women's football can be very atractive, and don't have to be descriminated. Look the other sports like Tennis and Volleyball where women

I think that idea of combined men and women's world cups is stupid. Fifa world cup for men is the greatest sports event and I think that event like this deserve full attention. But also I think that is time to Sep Blater get retire.

It would be nice to see change in FIFA but I not believe in that scenario. Sep has votes, he has strong base, and Ginola is relatively unknown. It would be interesting to see how will Platini react on his candidature, because it is speculating that he doesn't love Blater. But one thing is for sure Blater is huge favorite
