Hong Kong's Marco Fu achieved a splendid maximum 147 break during his 6-3 first-round win against England's Stuart Bingham on the opening day of the Masters tournament. Fu is currently the world number 10. He completed the third maximum break of his career in the fourth frame of the match against Bingham.
After the maximum he also made two century breaks, both worth 103. Fu will face reigning champion Ronnie O'Sullivan or Ricky Walden in the quarter finals. The player from Hong Kong has already reached the final of the masters in 2011, but was beaten 10-4 by Ding Junhui.
Earlier on Sunday, world champion Mark Selby was beaten 6-5 by Shaun Murphy. Marco Fu is 18/1 at Bet365 to win the Masters while Ronnie O'Sullivan is the favourite, priced at 6/4.

Marko Fu is real successor of Roonie O'Sullivan, and he showed his capacity and quality on this tournament. I believe that he will be one of the main players in upcoming years also, and we will see lot of new records and good moves from him. He is tru champion, and he will show that to the world

hahaha this is interesting and you can't see that every day. I am watching snooker very often but I miss this match. This match showed us how snooker can be interesting. Great return by Marco Fu but I think if he met Ronnie O'Sullivan in next round he doesn't have chance to win. But we will see :)
