Nothing but the Best for FanDuel World Fantasy Football Championship Participants
FanDuel put on its first World Fantasy Football Championship this week and announced that Scott Hanson topped 99 other entrants to win the $2 million first prize. Hanson was flown home from the Las Vegas event in a private jet in addition to the $7 million the company spent on the tournament. "We want to congratulate Scott Hanson for winning the FanDuel Fantasy Football Championship on a $2 qualifying league," said Nigel Eccles, FanDuel CEO and co-founder. "Scott is a new player that's only deposited $35 on FanDuel, yet has managed to turn that into more than two million dollars in one NFL season.” In order to take part in the FanDuel Fantasy Football Championship, players won one of 72 qualifying leagues from weeks 1 through 13 of the NFL season. Each qualifying league winner was flown to Las Vegas for the championship held at luxurious Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino.
