Back UEFA Champions League: AS Monaco vs Zenit St Petersburg preview

Monaco host Zenit St Petersburg in a decisive Group C clash on Tuesday, a draw will put the home side through but the visitors know that they will advance to the last 16 if they win. Monaco are currently second in the group table with just one point over Zenit.

The two teams played out a goalless draw in Russia a couple months ago. Zenit are in good form, having grabbed four win in their last six matches in all competitions, while Monaco have only won three of their last six games. If Monaco secure a goalless draw on Tuesday they will become the first ever team to qualify despite scoring just two goals in the group stage.

Monaco will have to do without the suspended Ricardo Carvalho, while Layvin Kurzawa is injured and Geoffrey Kondogbia and Andrea Raggi are both in doubt. Zenit will be without forward Aleksandr Kerzhakov due to foot problem but there are no other injury concerns for head coach Andre Villas-Boas.

Probable starting line-ups:

Monaco: Subasic - Fabinho, Toulalan, Abdennour, Raggi - Joao Moutinho, Bakayoko - Bernardo Silva, Berbatov, Ferreira Carrasco - Martial

Zenit: Lodygin - Anyukov, Garay, Lombaerts, Criscito - Javi Garcia, Witsel - Hulk, Danny, Ryazantsev - Rondon

My prediction: 1-1 draw.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Monaco win - 17/10 Draw - 23/10 Zenit win - 15/8
