Back Premier League: Gary Lineker defends Arsenal boss

Gary Lineker has criticised supporters who booed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger last weekend. This video on YouTube shows Wenger being jeered by fans when boarding a train following Arsenal's 3-2 Premier League defeat at Stoke City on Saturday.

"Just saw the Wenger abuse video," former England striker Gary Lineker said on Twitter. "Disgustingly disrespectful and totally inexcusable, regardless of any football results." The video also shows a fan giving some heartfelt advice to young striker Joel Campbell: “Joely, do the best thing mate! Get out while you can, Joel!”

Arsenal had a terrible first half at Stoke, they were 3-0 down before fighting back to 3-2. Wenger was also criticised by the fans during Arsenal's 1-0 at West Brom last week as some Gunners supporters displayed a banner that read: "Arsene, thanks for the memories but it's time to say goodbye."

Arsenal ended a run of nine years without a trophy by winning the FA Cup in May but they have not won the league since 2004 and are currently sixth in the Premier League table. The Gunners are currently 66/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title this season.
