Back Premier League: Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa preview

Aston Villa will be looking to end their eight-match winless run when they visit Crystal Palace on Tuesday. The Villains came close to ending that run against Burnley last weekend as Joe Colegave gave them the lead on his first Premier League start for the club, but Danny Ings converted a penalty for Burnley late on.

Crystal Palace have managed to bounce back from their own poor run of four defeats in five games and climbed out of the relegation zone. The Eagles clinched a draw last weekend at Swansea after an illustrious win over Liverpool before that.

Dwight Gayle, Adrian Mariappa and Damien Delaney are all injured so Frazier Campbell might get the chance to play instead of Marouane Chamakh in attack. Villa manager Paul Lambert has plenty of unavailable players, including injured captain Ron Vlaar, Fabian Delph, Philippe Senderos, Nathan Baker and Libor Kozak. Christian Benteke is available again after suspension though. Crystal Palace have lost only two of ten Premier League matches with Villa and won both of last season's games 1-0.

Probable line-ups:

Crystal Palace: Speroni - Kelly, Dann, Hangeland, Ward - Zaha, Jedinak, McArthur, Bolasie - Chamakh, Campbell

Aston Villa: Guzan - Hutton, Okore, Clark, Cissokho - Westwood, Cleverley, Richardson - Cole - Weimann, Benteke

My prediction: Aston Villa to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Crystal Palace win - 21/20 Draw - 5/2 Aston Villa win - 3/1
