Back Serie A: AC Milan vs Inter Milan derby preview

Former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini will begin his second spell as Inter Milan head coach on Sunday evening in the city derby against AC Milan. Mancini left Inter in 2008 but now has returned to replace Walter Mazzarri. The 49-year-old coach had a great first spell at Inter, winning three Serie A titles. Now he has to get the club back on track and into the top three in order to play Champions League football next season.

Inter are currently ninth in the Serie A table, so Mancini's task will be a tough one. Inter midfielder Gary Medel is suspended for the derby. Rivals AC Milan are one point and two places above Inter in the league table, but coach Filippo Inzaghi has failed to win any of their last four matches. AC Milan's last league win was on October 19 against Verona.

Striker Fernando Torres could make the starting lineup but the Spaniard will have to improve his goal scoring record of just one in nine games. Midfielder Nigel de Jong is in doubt due to a hamstring problem while Daniele Bonera is suspended after being sent off at Sampdoria.

Probable starting line-ups:

AC Milan: Diego Lopez - Zapata, Mexes, Rami, De Sciglio - Essien, Menez, De Jong, Bonaventura - Honda, El Shaarawy

Inter Milan: Handanovic - Vidic, Nagatomo, Ranocchia, Dodo - Juan, Kuzmanovic, Obi, Kovacic - Palacio, Icardi

My prediction: 2-2 draw.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

AC Milan win - 13/8 Draw - 11/5 Inter Milan win - 17/10
